Spring Is A Re-Birth

If the site is looking whacky it’s ’cause I switched over to self-hosting and WordPress (was previously on Blogger). I’m still trying to figure everything out and how I’d like the site to look now.

I’m open to any and all advice. I’d love to hear what you liked about the previous site (which can still be seen at FreeFromBroke.blogspot.com) or what you’d like to see on this new site.

Thanks in advance for everyone’s patience while I re-build!

I’m glad you switched… your previous site took quite a bit of time to come up – and this new one was super fast!!

Hi Dawn – that’s good to know. I sometimes felt the other site was a bit slow but I didn’t know for sure. I have to laugh though – I wonder which version you’re looking at know? I’ve been jumping back and forth since last night!

Your new site looks good. FYI- I tried to add your feed to my reader (on the new site) and it does not appear to be working.

Thanks for the info! I’ve been baffled by what’s happened to my feedburner feed. Still trying to figure that out. Hopefully I’ll get it working soon.

I think I figured out my FeedBurner problems and my feed should be working now (I think). It sometimes pays to take a break on a project and come back with a fresh mind.

Good for you going on your own. Looks good; I’m sure you’ll figure out a lot as you go.

Thank Nicole! I should have done this much sooner! The switch isn’t as easy as I would have liked but I think I understand how everything works now (for now).

If the feedburner still gives you a problem, try the FeedSmith plugin which is developed to help with feedburner feeds.

Not now but when CommetLuv fixes the DB issue, consider their plugin because its extra linkback to your readers blog. Another nice one is KeywordLuv by Cronin.

You are in for a world of amazement with WordPress.

I managed to figure out what was up with my feed. I needed to re-direct my new feed to feedburner.

I’ve heard about CommentLuv and was considering it. I’ll guess I should wait if there’s problems with it? I’ve seen it on other sites and like it but I did notice it made the comment process slower.

How’s KeywordLuv work?

Wordpress has been interesting so far. I think I went through about six themes in two days trying to find one I like and could work with. The learning curve is evening out now and I’m starting to get into a groove with this stuff.

Thanks for the advice!
