Orange Water

Another great week has gone by! We saw the birth of two great new sites this week. One is the Money Life Network (of which I am a part, check it out) and PF Buzz, a kind of Digg for personal finance sites.

Here are the carnivals I took part in:

The 141st Carnival of Debt Reduction: Enemies of the Doctor Edition hosted by Consumerism Commentary. My article Where Is Your Focus was picked as an editor’s pick! These editor’s picks are starting to pop up more often. It’s real exciting getting recognized for my work. Thank you!

The 154th Carnival of Personal Finance hosted by Canadian Dream: Free at 45. Do You Love Your Job? A Credit Card Evaluation was included.

And the Beat Goes On: the 127th Festival of Frugality was hosted by Funny About Money. My article Are You Prepared For Summer Costs was included.

The 14th Money Hacks Carnival - Weird Golf Facts Edition was hosted by Money Life Network member Prime Time Money. American Express Likes Me But Not Enough was included.

Whew! Four carnivals…Now for some favorites from my Google Reader:

10 Easy Ways to Stay in Debt by I’ve Paid for This Twice Already. Staying in debt is real easy. These are tips to make sure you stay in debt (tongue in cheek of course…right?).

Using Mini-Retirements to Get More Out of Life: An Interview With Tim Ferriss at Get Rich Slowly. Ferriss has some interesting ideas. I wouldn’t mind a mini-retirement real soon.

How to Write in Books That Aren’t Yours at Unclutterer via Lifehacker. They make clear Post-It Notes! That’s awesome. I gotta check those out since school text books are way expensive but I need to keep notes in them.

Short Term, Long Term at brip blap. When is a day considered a waste? Interesting thoughts on how far we should go to generate income.

Make Your Own Kind of Music at The Simple Dollar. Learning a musical instrument can be great fun and a lifelong hobby (I used to be in a bad many moons ago). It could also get expensive if you’re not careful.

Now for some greats in the Money Life Network:

Trading in for a Hybrid Could be Costly at Milk Your Money. Yeah gas is expensive these days. But that doesn’t mean trading for a hybrid will end up cheaper for you.

Why is it Important to Have Health Coverage, Even if You’re Healthy at Bible Money Matters. You never know when something can go wrong and you need medical attention of some sort. Paying for it is way too expensive without coverage.

Find the Cheapest Gas in your Zip Code at Prime Time Money. A nice tool to help you find cheaper gas where you live.

Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge Aren’t Saving You Any Money on Their New 2.99 Incentive at My Investing Blog. Seems that gas incentive they’re giving excludes you from other incentives which could be better. You really don’t get something for nothing.

That’s it for this week. Until next time - Read, Learn, and Enjoy!
