Summer’s almost here! It already feels like Summer here in NYC. It’s hot but I’m not complaining.
We had a lot going on this week at Free From Broke! I announced the winner of the Personal Finance Tipping Point contest (congrats Milk Your Money). The contest went great! This was also the first week of the Money Life Network Summer Savings Series. There’s a week’s worth of Summer savings articles as well as a chance to win a $100 Amazon gift certificate. Check it out for sure!
Speaking of contests…I won $113.80 over at Money Ning! That was a great surprise. It pays to read blogs and comment on great articles.
Now to this week’s carnivals (which were very exciting as you will see!):
The 143rd Carnival of Debt Reduction - The History of Debt was held at Moolanomy. My article Buy That Fun Stuff Without Going Into Debt was an Editor’s Pick! We’re now at five weeks with an editor’s pick somewhere. (Maybe I should set a goal of 50 picks in 52 weeks like I’ve Paid For This Twice? Nah, I should keep quiet so I don’t jinx it!)
The 2nd Carnival of Careers was hosted by the carnival’s founder Brip Blap. Know what? My article By What Cover is Your Book Judged was an Editor’s Pick!! (50 in 52, huh?)
The 63rd Carnival of Money Stories - Gather Round the Campfire edition was hosted by Bible Money Matters. And Messier gets the hat trick!!! Yes, Your Personal Finance Tipping Point was an Editor’s Pick!! The crowd goes wild!! The Rangers beat the Devils!! The Rangers Win!!! Ok, I’ll get out of 1994 now.
The 156th Carnival of Personal Finance: Songs of Summer was held over at Prime Time Money. I don’t think I’m talking to him anymore since my article Will The Economic Stimulus Payments Have To Be Paid Back didn’t get picked as an Editor’s Pick.
The 16th Carnival of Money Hacks was held at Daily Money Hack. I’m not talking to him either since Your Personal Finance Tipping Point was snubbed of an Editor’s Pick!
Seriously, I’m humbled and honored when I’m even included in these carnivals no less be picked as an editor’s pick. There are so many great sites out there that it’s great just to be listed among them! And let me say that it’s a lot of work putting the carnivals up. I appreciate every moment that the hosts take in preparing them.
Now for some finds in my Google Reader (which I’m waaay behind in):

Great link roundup, and thanks for including me (I like your title for this post!).
Thanks for the nod!
And congratulations on your editor’s picks and contest winnings. Sounds like it’s been your lucky week!
My week has not been so lucky. A huge branch fell off of my neighbor’s tree, smack onto my car! Luckily it missed the house, and I was not in the car. I’ll probably be writing a few poss on hassling with insurance companies in the coming weeks, though.
Lisa

Congrats on winning the money from MoneyIng, FFB. Thanks for linking back to the carnival and sharing my Summer Savings Series post.
@ Frugal Dad - Thanks!
@ Greener Pastures - The week wasn’t half bad! Sorry to hear about your car. A similar thing happened to my parent’s new car a couple of years ago. I hope insurance covers everything.
@ Stud - Thanks!
@ PT - No problem and thank you.
