@ Sam – Sometimes we need to remember our experiences when talking. A lot of time we’ve been in a situation already so it’s best if we could use that experience constructively to help the other person.

I know form personal experience that in most cases, there will be a small amount of blame that gets heaped at your door. When I was a student, I got myself into debt, and when I left uni, my parents found out the extent of it and went made. It made me feel very bad about things and has probably messed up my attitude toward money ever since, if only they had been given some advice on how to deal with the situation.
