Been kind of a slow week. I think it’s a little post 4th of July/Summeritis that I have. I’m loving coming home and it’s still full daylight out with all the kids out playing. It’s like, yeah I have to work but I still get some play time too! I better enjoy it since I think work will be getting busy real soon.
Due to the holiday last week I didn’t get to submit to carnivals like I normally do. I did get into the Carnival of Financial Goals - Freedom Edition for my article Independence Day - What Does It Mean To You. Thanks Patrick!
My Google Reader has been full of articles I haven’t been able to catch up on. I have about 50 or so sites in my feeder and most of them post at least a few times a week. Right now my unread sits at 374! I’d love to add more sites but I don’t know how I could keep up.
Here are some great articles I was able to read through:
Make It Do… at Mrs Micah. Sometimes it’s worth it to find your inner MacGuyver and make an item last a little longer.
How Much Should You Tip? Divide By Six at Cash Money Life. I get frequent brain farts when I have to figure out tips. Yet I’ve taken and passed calculus…
My Interview With Bill Gates at The Wisdom Journal. No, not that Bill Gates. But a great article on how you may be perceived during a job interview.
4 Quick Steps to Building Wealth at Brip Blap. Sometimes simple answers are the best. And happy blogging anniversary Steve!
11 Tips for First-Time Home Buyers by Quest For Four Pillars at Get Rich Slowly. Someday soon we’ll be looking to buy a house. These tips will be useful!
Secrets of the No-Stress Performance Review at On Simplicity. I just finished up doing my groups’s reviews and sitting through my own. These tips can help you do well on your next review.
The Bicycle Tutor. Not a post per se but I found this via LifeHacker via Get Rich Slowly. They site has a lot of guides to repair your bike. Maintaining your bike is important and many things you can do yourself rather than going to a bicycle shop.
And now for my favorites from the Money Blog Network:

Hey thanks! I the “Inner MacGuyver” idea…I’ll tell myself that next time.
Speakng of MacGuyver…
Thanks for the mention.
Mrs. Micah, great link! I just spent an hour on that site! LOL.
Thanks for the nod! I also enjoyed Brip Blap’s piece–thanks for pointing it out.
I hear you about having “summeritis”… it’s really slowing me down this week! I also just joined the Money Hackers so I should be starting to submit to carnivals too. Should be fun!
Glad you enjoyed the home buying post.
I’m going to bookmark the bike repair site - I’m terrible at doing that stuff…
Mike
@ Mrs Micah - Used to love MacGuyver when it was on!
@ MoneyEnergy - The summeritis really kicks in on Monday, especially when I was at the beach on Sunday!
@ Four Pillars - When I was a kid I used to be able to take apart and repair a bike with no problems. Now with all the different gears and such it’s a little more intimidating. My bike needs a tune-up. Might have to go to the repair site and take a Saturday afternoon and fix things up.
@ Patrick and Sara - I always enjoy linking out to articles I read!
Hey, thanks for the links. That was a good resource, and some of those articles were excellent. I especially love the idea of “Making Do!”
Some great links there. There is so much good material on the internet don’t you think?
