Been another busy week. On a lot of conference calls lately. On the one hand a conference call is a great way to involve a lot of people. One the other it can be a great waste of time! Such is what work requires!
These were the carnivals I took part in:
Money Hacker’s Carnival #20 - Chicago Style host by This Writer’s Wallet. I’m back on the Editor’s Pick map as A CD Ladder Plan for Beginning Savers was picked!
Festival of Frugality #134 hosted by On Financial Success. New York State Empire Passport was included (we used our passport last weekend going to Robert Moses beach!).
How to Get a Better Job Or Make Your Job Better - Carnival of Careers #6 hosted by Money Smart Life which included Murphy’s Law of the Workplace.
Carnival of Personal Finance #161 - The Feeling Renewed Edition at The Budgeting Babe. Dealing With Financial Problems With a Loved One was included.
Here are some articles I’ve highlighted in my Google Reader:
Your Financial Life On One Page (FLOP) at Being Frugal. Make sure someone knows about your accounts in case anything should ever happen to you!
The Safest Online Banks at Five Cent Nickel. A rundown of what the safest online banks are.
Your Free Credit Score: Is There Such A Thing? at The Digerati Life. We hear about free credit this and that but are there strings attached and are we getting what we think we are?
Seven Traits Of Successful People at Moolanomy. How many of these traits do you have? (P.S. Happy blog b-day to Moolanomy!)
Don’t Underestimate The Little Things at Cash Money Life. Small things get big before you know it!
How To Choose A Career The Simple Dollar Way at The Simple Dollar. Some sound advice for figuring out what you should do.
I Think She Knows at Brip Blap. Is it the end of days for our economy? (Happy blog b-day to brip blap too!)
And now some great articles from the Money Life Network:
Another Stimulus Check? Maybe, But Why Not Create Your Own at Bible Money Matters.
Frugal Decorating: Use What You Have at Remodeling This Life.
When To Talk About Finances With Your Significant Other at Sense To Save.
Your Mid-Year Financial Check-Up: Series Wrap-Up at Prime Time Money.
Give The Gift Of Stock at Milk Your Money.
Hank’s Holiday Hand-Out #3 at My Investing Blog. Hank is giving out 3 American Express Gift cards totaling $300! He asks
If you were given $50,000USD (tax free) today, what would you spend it on?
For me that money would go into a new mini-van for the family. We have two kids now and our Corolla, though a great little car, just isn’t big enough for us all the time now. Any leftover money could go into an ING savings account to help pay for all of the gas down the road! Check out Hank’s site for the full story on how you can get a chance at winning the gift cards!

I think I had a similar time at work these past few weeks… Thanks for the mention.
Thank you for sharing my article with your readers.
I recall a job when I used to be conf. calls all day & every day. After a while, I just hated it because I couldn’t get anything done.
@ Patrick & Pinyo - No problem on the mentions. My last week or so has been boring conference calls on speaker phone! By the time something relevant to me comes up I’m already zoned out.
