Black Friday isn’t just for retail stores. ING Direct will be offering up Black Friday and Cyber Monday specials this year. If you don’t feel like going out and spending your money you can check out what ING Direct will be offering for you to save. You know I’ve been an ING Direct customer for years and think it’s a great place for online savings so I’m pretty excited to see what they are going to offer!
Here is the rundown of the ING Direct Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals:
- Orange CD: On Black Friday ING Direct will be revealing their CD special. Their rates are already competitive so if they add a little more it could be a nice day to open up a CD!
- Electric Orange Checking Account: ING Direct will also be announcing on Black Friday an Electric Orange checking account special. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Electric Orange but have yet to sign up. This may be the day I open up a checking account with them!
- ShareBuilder: On Cyber Monday, November 30th, Sharebuilder will be offering a 20% rebate on trades. I’m also a ShareBuilder customer and my account is linked with my ING Direct savings. It’s through ShareBuilder that I get to say I’m a part owner of companies like Berkshire Hathaway (albeit a very tiny, miniscule owner)!
- Easy Orange and Orange Mortgage: ING Direct will offer $683 off closing costs for their mortgages. According to the National Retail Federation $683 is what the average American will spend on gifts for the holidays. Looks like ING Direct wants to give that back to you if you open a mortgage with them. I can’t say I’m too familiar with their mortgage products but it may be worth a look if you are in the market for a mortgage.
I think it’s awesome the way ING Direct has pushed the envelope over the years. When I first opened my savings account with them online banking was a new thing that not many people took advantage of. Now most banks have some sort of online account. ING Direct pushes the envelope again by offering extra incentives to get people to save on two days where folks are expected to spend.
I’ll be checking out the ING Direct offers on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Will you?

The checking is cool if for no other reason that it provides emergency ATM access to your ING savings

Hmm, that’s a great point!
Hopefully ING’s promotions will entice people to keep their money in savings instead of going out and spending it on stuff they don’t need. I’m always amazed how knocking 20% off an item will make it sell like hotcakes to people that don’t need it just because it’s Black Friday.
I’ve been guilty of the whole “it’s on sale I need to buy it” mentality. But I’m getting better! I’ll be checking out what ING Direct has to offer. It’s smart of them to help people save rather than spend.
That’s great to hear. Instead of just saving money on the items you buy, people can also save extra money also in their checking and savings.
