Festive Link Love Carnivality #29

Is anyone else getting tired of the stock market roller coaster? It goes up, it goes down.  I’m resigned to the fact that My 401(k) was set back some and won’t look like it used to for a while.  The silver lining is I’ll be buying cheaper stocks.  I think if you have a long-term timeframe then now could be a good time to buy.  But I’m no professional.  If you didn’t see it I wrote a drief description of what the Dow is in case you weren’t sure.

Also, I participated in Blog Action Day this week.  This year’s focus is poverty.  Check out my articles on the causes of poverty as well as many other articles from Blog Action Day.  Do what you can to help out!

I found out about a new social media site called Tip’d.  It’s another site that’s similar to Digg but concentrates on financial articles including personal finance, economics, and stocks.  I was a bit skeptical on joining another rating site but I’ve found the articles are great and it already has a very active community.  Look me up if you sign up: freefrombroke.    Add me as a friend!  Oh there’s also a Tip’d button at the bottom of my posts now.  Feel free to tip up the articles!

I am glad you mentioned about buying stock with “long-term goals” in mind. I do believe quite a few companies’ stock are at a bargain price, but only if you are willing to keep them for at least a few years. The last thing we need is day trading type of behavior further contributing to the volatility of the market.

And thanks for the tip on Tip’d! I’ll definitely check it out.
