Give The Gift Of Stock – ING and ShareBuilder Want To Help You Achieve Financial Independence

by

Are you looking for a creative gift? How about a gift that can help someone achieve financial independence?  Maybe a gift that can build a young person’s interest in investing?

ING Direct and their online brokerage arm, ShareBuilder, have created that gift – The Gift Of Stock.

ING Direct Gift of StockFor just $45 you get:

  • $50 ShareBuilder Gift Card. Help friends and family start their own stock portfolio at ShareBuilder or become an investor yourself. The gift card is redeemable when opening a new ShareBuilder Individual, Joint or Custodial account, giving you or the gift recipient the chance to start off with $50 in their account. ShareBuilder has no account minimums.
  • Five Free Automatic Investment Plan Credits. Free trade credits allow you, friends or family to start building wealth. ShareBuilder’s Automatic Investment Plan allows investors to set up recurring investments with a dollar amount they can afford.  Automatic investments are normally $4/each so this is a $20 value.
  • Five-part video series from The Motley Fool. Picking stocks can be easier than you think. The Motley Fool’s How to Buy the Right Stocks for Your Portfolio video series can help you develop the right financial portfolio for your financial goals.

The Gift of Stock is offered through the ING Direct online shop as well as at the 7 ING cafe locations.

In all, the value of the package is $125.  Consider that the gift card is worth more than the price of the package and you can see this is a great offer.

Who is this good for? Well, anyone who you want to help start investing!  I think this would make an awesome gift for a child.  They can invest in a company that means something to them and watch the stock over time as well as build an interest early in investing.  Heck, my kids might as well own Disney with all they consume!

What if you could buy The Gift of Stock for even less?

I want to give one reader The Gift of Stock

If you recall, I attended an investing “tweeetup” a little while back at the ING Cafe in NYC.  On top of meeting Tom Gardner of The Motley Fool and Dan Greenshields of ShareBuilder (both awesome!) I received a copy of The Gift of Stock.  I already have a ShareBuilder account so I thought it would be great to get one of my readers in on the investing fun!

To enter to win a copy of The Gift of Stock subscribe to my email newsletter, where you get Free From Broke articles delivered right to your inbox!  If you are already subscribed then you are already entered (a nice side-benefit of subscribing to my newsletter).

Here are the details of the giveaway:

I’ll be picking one (1) winner randomly from my email subscriber list.  You must be subscribed the the Free From Broke newsletter to qualify to win.  Readers have until December 29th, 2010 at 10pm EST to confirm their subscription.  At that time I’ll download my subscriber list and pick the winner.  I’ll email the winner for their mailing information so I can mail out The Gift of Stock.  If I don’t hear from the person in 48 hours, I’ll pick another person.  Only one entry per person.  As I’m mailing out the prize I cannot be responsible for anything that happens to it in transit.  Only readers in the continental United States.

Sign up for the Free From Broke Newsletter.  Make sure you confirm your subscription!  An email will be sent to you asking you to confirm by clicking the attached link (so the newsletter provider, Aweber, knows you really want to subscribe.)

Thanks for the tweet. I guess we’ll have to see what happens as ING grows.

I would love to get the gift of stock! I am an investment junkie and it’s killing me right now to lay low and pay off our debts. I can’t wait to invest again!
