And so it has begun.
School is in full swing for the household. We’re still getting used to the new schedule around here. I gotta say though, you get what you pay for in school taxes. The school our oldest is going to has been awesome in informing us of everything we need and taking care of the needs of a new student. It’s nice to know we’re at least getting something back for the taxes we’re now paying.

Thanks! I am glad you liked the post.
The taxes some people pay are OBSCENE on Long Island. I wish there were a happy medium.
They can be obscene. But sometimes you get what you pay for too. A lot of the small villages have their own schools, police forces, and fire departments. Money for that has to come from somewhere.
What would be nice is if home prices were lower as a result but the areas with high taxes may also be more desirable keeping home prices higher.
Thanks for the weekend reading list
You’re welcome Jenna.

No problem Peter!
Thanks a million for the link.
My daughter is a senior this year, so this is our last official school year, excluding college. I look forward to dropping her off in the mornings, but I hate the traffic at the high shcool. Enjoy it while it lasts.
Ughh, I can imagine what the traffic is like. We used to live on the same block as our daughter’s elementary school. Instead of parking, people would pull to the side and stop traffic to let their kids out while school buses waited so they could park. It was crazy.
Thank you for the mention!
