Yesterday I had the fortune of seeing three of my posts stumbled from the site Stumble Upon. I’ve had a couple of others stumbled but never three in one day! To say the visits for the day increased would be an understatement! I was in shock watching the numbers rise along the day. It was really exciting; my little baby of a site was learning to walk (crawl maybe?).
Here are some interesting results of yesterday’s frenzy:
- My total visits for the day more than doubled my previous high (which itself was a Stumble-driven day).
- My subscribers increased by a third.
- With all of the visits there was only a couple of comments.
I gotta admit that I’m not really sure how things get stumbled on Stumble Upon. I know it’s stuff that’s reviewed and thumbed-up but I can’t figure out how so many see it? I’ve been busy looking through Stumble Upon lately and I’ve been giving out the love reviewing articles I found interesting. It’s a bit addictive stumbling through the sites.
Was it worth it? Hell yeah! It was a lot of fun seeing the traffic come in and my ego gets a boost that there are people who would think enough of the site to subscribe. My only wish is that more people would comment. I can’t wait to see another day like yesterday.
Have you been stumbled? What was it like?

I’ve recently connected my blog to BlogBurst…some of my work now gets picked up by Reuters which gets me a ton of traffic.
So yea…I have to agree that marketing yourself on different forums definitely helps.
Thanks for the lead Ricardo! I just signed up with Blog Burst. Let’s see what happens! Thanks for your comments!
I’m with you, on the people leaving a comment statement.
I personal like blogging for the whole discussion and debating a topic aspect of it.
I’m a newbie on this whole social networking issue, but I’m adapting.
You know what they say…adapt or die!
Those sites do totally increase traffic flow, it’s amazing!
Have you found any of your stuff on Technorati?
I was surprised to find some of my stuff on there.
Good post!
I’ve found Stumble to be inconsistent in driving traffic, but it sure is great to see! I like to Stumble other sites for sure and found an article of mine had been stumbled by another blogger – that’s always great.
@Dawn – I am signed up on Technorati. I check it every day to see if my authority has increased! If you haven’t done so, go claim your blog there!
@sabrinamoneymatters – For sure it’s inconsistent but it has increased my subscriber base which is nice! If that happens every time I’m stumbled then it’s worth every penny (which come to think of it, Stumble Upon is free).
