The Inner View of Your Interview by Ron Haynes – Excerpt

Inner View of Your Interview

This is a guest post from Ron Haynes, editor of The Wisdom Journal and author of a new eBook, The Inner View of Your Interview, exposing the motivations behind today’s top 100 job interview questions. Ron has been interviewing people for various positions for over two decades and uses his new eBook to give job seekers an insider’s peek into the mind of an interviewer.

The Inner View of Your Interview has a central theme: all job seekers should tailor their resume, cover letter, and job preparation to each individual company rather than take a scattered approach. When a job seeker learns to focus on a target company’s greatest needs and tailors all responses to job interview questions on meeting those needs, he or she quickly becomes a top candidate in the interviewer’s mind. And for the job seeker, there’s few places any better!

Know the secrets of nailing your interview!

Think how Question 91 [from the book] could be answered if you were interviewing at a startup, at a mid-sized sales oriented company, or at a stodgy old Fortune 100 firm:

Question 91: Sell me this pen (pencil, stapler, adding machine, desk, clock, etc).

What’s With The Celebrity PrePaid Debit Cards and Links

So we have prepaid debit cards from Russell Simmons, RushCard, and now one is coming from the Kardashian sisters. Russell Simmons built up a hip-hop empire but the Kardashian sisters?!?  Wasn’t Kim’s initial claim to fame a “straight-to-DVD-movie” a la her friend Paris Hilton?  Are people really going to get this card?  Do people, or kids, really care?

I don’t know. Maybe I would be more apt to get some kind of heavy metal card.  The Metallica Black Card would have promise.  Or a better black card could be the Spinal Tap Card (“this card goes to 11!”).  Maybe an iron Iron Maiden Card (it could have some awesome album art).  How about a Guns N Roses Appetite for Credit Card?

Or better yet, we can have some famous investors cards. Maybe the Peter Lynch Invest in What You Know card?  The card analyzes your spending and invests in companies of stores you frequent.  Of course we would need the Warren Buffet card, which would invest in well-known companies that have great valuations.

What do you think would make a great endorsement card?

Furnished+Room

You’ve heard of companies out there like Rent-A-Center haven’t you? They allow consumers to rent appliances, furniture, and electronics.  Generally, I think a person should be able to afford an item and buy it outright if they want something.  But I think there are a few instances where renting can make sense.

Here are a few cases where it could be beneficial to rent furniture, appliances, or electronics:
