Spend More for the SuperBowl or Romantic Weekend and Links

by

So guys – What would you spend more on? A romantic weekend with a your significant other or a trip to the SuperBowl to see your team play to win it all?

Tough one right?

ING Direct just conducted a telephone survey on this very topic and they found that 57% of male football fans surveyed would spend $500 or more on a romantic weekend getaway while 27% would spend the money to see their favorite team in the Superbowl.

Really?

And when the amount of money was doubled to $1000, 30% of men would take the romantic getaway compared to 14% who would go see their favorite team in the big game.

Read more about the survey at ING Direct and also check out some great ways to save on SuperBowl Sunday.

Thanks for the mention Craig. I need to get an Android app for my site, I just got a new Samsung Galaxy a couple weeks ago!

Funny thing for me is I don’t have an Android phone. When you download mine please let me know how it looks!

I would go for the romantic weekend at the beach, but not the same weekend as the Super Bowl! I would rather watch the Super Bowl with family and friends either at home or sports bar.

Interesting choice! I think having a bunch of friends and family over for a get together would be pretty cool and a nice way to share the day.

My question is if I picked the romantic getaway would I have to take the kids? That adds a whole different dimension to the survey.

Thanks for mentioning my article on The Disposition Effect!

As for the question, I would have to choose the Super Bowl to see my Bears win it. I’m all for the romantic weekends of course, but I have to go with the Super Bowl here….and then schedule the romantic weekend for some other time. If it cost too much for the Super Bowl, I’d opt for the Romantic Weekend though.
