So yesterday I’m outside with my son doing some lawn work. Dark clouds gather and I hear some thunder so we pack up our stuff and head inside. About ten minutes later a pretty big thunderstorm rolls through. No big deal. About an hour later we hear there’s been a possible tornado in NYC (we’re a couple of towns over from the border). Wha?!? I had class so I had to drive into Queens. Trees down everywhere! Huge branches all over the place. Streets closed off with trees blocking the way. Highways are useless in certain areas. Trains aren’t running and thousands are stranded. If my class were about an hour earlier I could have been in the thick of it.
You never know what is going to happen tomorrow.
We can plan and plan but the future is an unknown. Do what you can to minimize the unknown and make sure to live life now!

Hello Free From Broke!
Thank you for the mention.
You’re very welcome Amanda.
Wow, crazy… reminds me of when a small dust tornado kicked up right outside my apartment building in the middle of the bus station. Didn’t do any damage but sent dust flying a few hundred feet into the air, and probably was very uncomfortable for the people that were caught outside waiting for their bus!
Thanks for the link!
It was crazy. I can’t say I’ve ever seen damage like that in Queens before.
Thanks for the mention! The weather was NUTTY here last night
Yes it was. How was it by you?
Great intro – You’re right you can do your best today to prepare for a better tomorrow, but you must live your life in the NOW.
Thank you KP.
Thanks for some weekend reading material!
Have fun reading!
Tornadoes are never fun! I’ve only witnessed a small funnel storm. the power is amazing, but it isn’t something I would wish on anyone. glad to hear you made it through safely!
Fortunately it was just a thunderstorm by us but we’re not far from the city where it wreaked havoc. The power is amazing.
Thanks for the inclusion!
Glad to include it Mark.

My pleasure and congrats on 3 years! My 3rd year is coming up soon.
Thanks for including my article!
Yeah, it took me a long time to get home from work that night. In NJ there were a lot of flash floods and disabled cars!
It’s really incredible the amount of damage that was done. Though maybe what’s more incredible is that things weren’t worse.
