Groupon has another of their great national retail deals going. This one is for Barnes & Noble.
$10 for $20 Worth of Books, Games, Toys, and More at Barnes & Noble!
This deal is good for purchases in-store as well as online. What is really nice is this deal is also valid on sale items as well as their popular e-reader the Nook! (Though not valid at B&N College locations).
You know what is coming up soon, right? I’ll tell you – Valentine’s Day! I’ve always found that Barnes & Noble had a great selection of cards and small gifts for Valentine’s Day (including the yummy Godiva Chocolates). Here’s a way to make V-Day a little less expensive.
The fact that this deal is also good on their Nook is nice too. I’ve personally been looking into getting a Nook. I have a number of e-books I haven’t read yet sitting on my computer. I don’t really like reading a book on my laptop. It’s too clumsy and I don’t like sitting with my laptop to read. What really makes me think about the Nook is that a class I’m taking is requiring me to buy an e-book version of a textbook. I have to do the reading to keep up but I don’t want to be tied to my laptop in order to read. I can print out the pages but that takes time, ink, and printer use. With the Nook I can read the textbook on the go by saving the book in a PDF format. I also like that the Nook can accept library books as well (something the Kindle is unable to do).
This Groupon deal for Barnes & Noble is on through the weekend though the site says there are limited quantities available so make sure you get in on this. I guess how long the deal lasts will depend on how many they sell.
The actual Groupon will expire April 10, 2011 so make sure you keep track of it and use it by then.

A little about Groupon…
Groupon offers up daily deals up to 90% off. Usually these are for local establishments in your area like restaurants, stores, or local attractions. Sometimes they roll out a national deal like this one.
Every day there’s a new deal. If enough people “group” together for the “coupon” (group+coupon=Groupon) then the deal is on and you can take advantage of the offer.
Is Groupon legit? Absolutely! I’ve used them for some great deals already. In fact the company is growing so much Google offered up something like 6 Billion to buy the company (they refused). Yes, that was a “B.”
Here is my review of Groupon if you want to learn more.

This is actually pretty great. Personally I do a lot of remote work for http://www.financiallydigital.com from the built in Starbucks there. I do happen to break and wander through all the great business sections there and a coupon for stuff while im already in there can’t get any better right. Nice insight into Groupon and thanks for the Valentines Day idea 🙂

You’re very welcome for the V-Day idea!

I like Groupon and the myriad of other sites like Living Social, etc. as they give consumers a chance at trying a service, product or restaurant that they normally wouldn’t try by providing a deep discount.

They are awesome services to get to know what’s going on in your city! I wish they had them years ago.

I used to be a regular at Barnes & Noble until they closed their store near me. Now I am exclusively Amazon customer.

I used to shop there all the time too. Like you I now do a lot of shopping at Amazon. But I still love going into a Barnes & Noble and actually seeing and feeling the books. There’s a great vibe there too, like there’s limitless knowledge for me to take hold of.

I love Barnes and Noble, I am so glad you posted this. I had never used Groupon before until I went to it from your site. I love how after you order from Groupon, the confirmation note says “Love, Groupon”
Thanks again!!!

They have a real nice touch, don’t they? And their little “tips” at the bottom of their offers are pretty funny too.
Glad to hear I was able to introduce you to Groupon.

There are so many books I want to read and never enough time! My Groupon is actually going towards a Nook to help me keep on top of my reading.
